Talented Driffild cricketer 16 year old Tom Norman scored an unbeaten 177 for Hymers College 1st XI in their first game of the season against Ampleforth College - thanks to a special Indian influence.
Chasing 255 to win, Tom scored the winning runs with a ball to spare in a six wicket victory.
Tom has benefitted from a unique cricketing partnership between Hymers College and India.
Last summer, Hymers hosted a talented Indian cricketer, Nitin Tanwar, and as part of the reciprocal arrangements Tom was selected to attend the Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy in Mumbai over the half-term break in February.
Tom, who will be taking his GCSEs this summer, is also a member of Driffield Cricket Club.
Tom said, “I am very proud of my achievement but hope I can score a few more hundreds this season for Hymers”.
