Lunchtime staff at Kings Mill School, Driffield, are planning a sponsored bike ride to raise funds to buy new bikes for the children’s lunchtime play.
The bike ride will take place on Sunday 30 June, starting at Kings Mill School and finishing at Bell Mills biking via Nafferton, Wansford and Skerne.
Sharon Bielby, Senior Midday Supervisor at Kings Mill School, said: “We are organising some other small events leading up to the bike ride.
On Saturday 11 May, a social club in Brandesburton held a raffle and the proceeds of £106 were donated to our bike fund. We would like to say thank you to all concerned.
“We will be bag packing at Iceland on Saturday 22 June and would like to thank the store manager for letting us go into the store that day.
She added: “The Driffield Town Cricket Club have been kind enough to support us by displaying a poster and sponsor form in the club house and a donation tin for anyone who wishes to contribute. They are also advertising the event in their Matchday magazine and we have the chance to hold collections on various matchdays. The lunchtime team would like to thank everyone for their efforts and support of their fundraising activities.”
