Walkabout Beverley week is set to take place between September 14 and 22.
Giving participants the opportunity to improve fitness whilst learning about Beverley’s history and quirks, Walkabout Beverley week falls during the first week of the third Walking and Outdoors Festival in the East Riding which runs throughout September.
Walkers can join in with organised walks or get a map and make up their own.
A spokesperson for Walkabout week said: “The easiest way to start is to get into walking. It’s a great way to get fit and enjoy the open air. Town walking is a good way to get into regular walking and build up your stamina.
Whether you like the social side of a group walk or choose to walk in a smaller group, or alone, the positive benefits of walking are well established.
“Beverley is a Walkers are Welcome town - sponsored by the Beverley Renaissance Partnership with the backing of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Beverley Town Council, and the Beverley Chamber of Trade, a Walkers are Welcome town understands that walking for many visitors and local people to towns throughout the country. Whether you choose to stroll or hike it is also truly fantastic form of exercise.
Beverley is already a popular choice for walkers and ideal for those who want to walk short or long distances. The town is great base for visitors and plenty of walking options for residents.”
