This week I attended a seminar run by John Wood of the Golf Foundation at One Stop Golf in Hull.
The new 2014 Junior Passport Scheme is a innovative method for helping youngsters get into the game of golf.
The structured learning programme covers three key areas: Start, Learn and Play.
The Start level is about fun and an elementary introduction to golf.
The Learn level is a move towards technical instruction through games based learning.
The Play level teaches the juniors to apply their learning to the golf course. This in turn develops new golfers at a young age where the attraction of a game that personnel integrity is held in the highest esteem and can be a life long passion.
For the recent success to continue at Driffield Golf Club new plans and instruction ideas are always good initiatives to help produce new golfers and members.
Driffield GC has a proud history of helping both boys and girls learn golf and have done well at club level and gone on to win the Junior East Riding League and some have gone on to represent the county.
Junior coaching starts on Saturday, April 5 in 10 week blocks at £5 per session or £40 for the full course.
