First Hull Trains, are being hailed for their excellent planning over the weekend.
With thousands of Hull City’s supporters travelling to the capital, the operator laid on extra trains and coaching stock to meet the demand.
Through excellent planning and the dedication of their staff, record numbers were transported down to London for the big Wembley FA cup game and all then safely back to East Yorkshire.
A spokesperson for Hull Trains said everything worked like clockwork. We obtained extra coaches from our sister company and additional paths to ensure we could cater for more fans to use the trains. We are now quickly working with the rail authorities to gain further capacity for the final, next month.
Local rail development consultant, David Walford, praised Hull Trains slick programme over the weekend. “It is a terrific boost to Hull City’s army of fans, that so many can access Wembley stadium quickly by the trains. The pride in arriving at King Cross on board our own train service added to the success of the weekend.”
David Walford went on to say, “With so much happening around the city, the need to keep expanding our rail links has never been more important. The region is on a real high and key rail links are pivotal to capitalising on this success. Now for the next big one: the FA Cup Final.”
First Hull Trains expect to be able to announce their plans for the cup final on 17th very soon, to help supporters plan their journeys.
