Middleton earn their first victory of the season to move off the bottom

York Senior Cricket League Eastern Conference

Division One

North Dalton extended their lead at the top of Division One following a win at Hessle, who slip from third to fourth.

Hessle made 163-7 with Shaun Drewry 78 and Chris Broadley 28 as Sam Ullyott took 6-56. Shaun Tate struck 80 and Tom Walgate 35 as the leaders won by six wickets.

Second placed HICE won at home to Eastrington by five wickets bowling out the visitors for just 92 with Andy Kingston taking 5-24 and Chris Chafer making 25. John Barker hit 31* and Gary Laverack took 3-32 in HICE’s reply.

Humbleton moved up one place to third following an eight wicket win at home to Newport.

The visitors were bowled out by Johnson who took 6-43 with Mark Ogram hitting 47 and Josh Chapman 28.

T Oaks made 51* and J Caley 47 as Humbleton won with 16 overs to spare.

Walkington beat Fenner 111 by three wickets. Fenner were all out for 100 with 30 each by D Cain and D Pinkerton with Mark Frampton taking 3-34. Walkington also struggled but 34 from M Green saw them home.

Middleton won for the first time this season to move off the bottom.

They restricted Beverley Town 1V to 101-9 with Rich Brigham taking 4-36 and then replied with 104-6 thanks to 42 from Dale Bower and 27 from Adam Barton to win by four wickets.

Division Two

Division Two leaders Sutton 11 lost for the first time this season, beaten by seven wickets at Cherry Burton but remain nine points clear with a game in hand.

They were bowled out for just 83 by Terry Ventress 3-25 and Carl Wilson 3-4 as Tim Hotte made 33. Wilson was 44* and G Wickenden 31* as Cherry Burton won comfortably.

North Ferriby stay second after a big win at home to lowly Hull Zingari 111.

Ferriby made 261-7 dec. with James Greenfield 55, Jake Oakes 52*, Sam Watkin 45 with Tom Elstone taking 3-50 for Zingari who were all out for just 97 as E Greenfield took 3-7 and George Rawlins made 33.

There was a draw at Airmyn where the home side made 209-9 with Knowles 66, Thomson 32 and three wickets each for Saxby and Morris of HICE 11 who were well short on 96-3 as Morris made 30.

Nafferton won for the first time this season but stay bottom.

hey made 159-8 at home to Dalton Holme thanks to 54* by J Goddard and 40 from Gary Robb.

In reply Paul Williamsosn hit 60 for Dalton Holme but they fell 20 runs short on 139 all out as Chris Robb took 4-30 and Paul Scott 4-17.

Division Three

Foxtons moved back to the top of Division Three following a draw at South Holderness and Old Hymerians’ defeat at home to Cottingham 11.

Foxtons scored 211-7 with Altray 61*, Waz 36* and Ibda 30 as A Berry took 3-58 for South Holderness who settled for a draw 21 runs short on 190-3, P Brooks having made 82 and G Chapman 52.

Hymerians made 148-7 with Geoff Keen top-scoring with 41 and Das making 30 as J Yeoman took 4-17 for Cottingham who won by six wickets as K parker hit 43 and S Wilson 28. This win moves Cottingham up to third.

Humberside Police were just 12 runs short in a drawn game at home to Skidby.

Skdiby made 157-7 with D Elliott hitting the day’s top score, 91*. The Police closed on 145-8 as Duncan made 33 and O’ Sullivan 34*.

Pelican beat Skirlaugh by eight wickets bowling them out for just 42 and knocking the runs off for two down.

The bottom two sides changed places as Bransholme and Kingswood beat Kirkella 11 by three wickets. Kirkella made 121-7 and B&K replied with 125-7 with Bucknall top score on 36.
