Comprehensive home win over HICE seals title for North Dalton

Division One

North Dalton are the Division One champions following a comprehensive nine wicket win at home to second placed HICE.

The The visitors made 141-8 with D Luscombe making 39 and D Daley 30 and Will Pethick taking 5-27 for North Dalton and Richard Woodmansey was 61 not out assisted by Tom Walgate with 37 and Shaun Tate 31 not out as the Wolds side completed an unbeaten season.

HICE have finished their programme in second place but can be caught by both Hessle and Humbleton who have games this weekend.

Humbleton are third following an eight wicket win at relegated Middleton.

The home side were bowled out for just 65 and Joe Harrison made 33 as Humbleton won with ease.

Eastrington had the best of a draw at home to Beverley Town 1V. Batting first, the home side made 207-5 with Gary Tooke top-scoring with 54, Gary Walsh making 51 and Mark Oates 34. Neil Graham with 32 secured a draw for the visitors as Gary Laverack took 3-24.

In a low scoring game at Walkington, the home side were bowled Newport out for 79 as James Dowson took 6-35 and Mark Frampton 3-17 but Walkington were shot out for 41 by Paul Tough 4-12 and Sam Patel 3-0 to lose by 38 runs.

Division Two

In Division Two, North Ferriby are top having completed their fixtures but Sutton who won by 185 runs at HICE 11 can overhaul them if they win their last match at relegated Nafferton next week.

Sutton made 241-5 declared and bowled the home side out for just 56.

Cherry Burton finished third despite a three wicket defeat at Hessle 11 who finish fourth.

Cherry were 162 all out and made the home side work hard for their win, taking seven wickets.

In the other match, Airmyn won by 72 runs at home to Dalton Holme and finish fifth. Airmyn scored 144-8 with Gavin Clark 89 not out and Martyn Gamble taking 5-33 and Matt Arnold 3-44 for the visitors who were bowled out for just 72 by Rich Bramham 3-12 and Gavin Clark 3-28.

Dalton are in danger of relegation if Hull Zingari 111 win the final game next week.

Division Three

Foxtons are virtually certain of the Division Three title but they had a scare at Skidby where they were bowled out for just 88 by Gary Haskins 5-32 and Gary Clapham 4-46.

But the leaders rallied to bowl out the home side for just 69 to win by 19 runs.

Old Hymerians cannot be caught in second place.

Cottingham are virtually certain to finish third but lost by two wickets at home to Skirlaugh.

Cottingham made 126-7 with Callum Furlong 57 and Craig Pitcher 24 as W Roe took 3-28 and J Havercroft 3-37 for Skirlaugh for whom R Martin made 30 and W Roe 29 with E Calver taking 3-24 and Graham Furlong 3-27 for the home side.

Relegated Kirkella 11 held on for a draw at 94-9 chasing South Holderness 11’s 152-5 with P Brooks making 89.

Bransholme & Kingwood gave themselves a chance of escaping the drop by beating Pelican by 2wickets.

Pelican were 85 all out with A Roulston making 24 and Howitt taking 5-29 for B&K who won by two wickets thanks to 29 from D Bucknall although Roulston took 4- 31 and J Ellis 4-39 for Pelican.

The final round of fixtures are next weekend.

Division Four

In Division Four, Hutton Cranswick are top after winning their final game at home to Cottingham 111 by 35 runs.

The home side were 78 all out with Adam Kneeshaw top-scoring with 21 as Luke Berzins took 4-29 for the visitors who were themselves shot out for 43 by Kneeshaw with 3-8 and Damien Thomas 3-10.

Hutton Cranswick won by 35 runs but can be caught by Hull 111 if they win their final game this week.

In the other game in the division, Gilberdyke won at home to Beeford by three wickets.

Beeford were all out for 139 with Dave Mell taking 3-39 and Paul Cook making 49 and Rowan Rhodes 34 for Beeford. Ryan Callis made 57 for Gilberdyke in reply and Cook took 3-12.

Division Five

Cherry Burton have gone top of Division Five ahead of the last round following a two wicket win at home to Cottingham 1V.

The visitors scored 130-8 with Rhodes 40 and Godber taking three wickets for Cherry who made 131-8 in reply thanks to 28 from Ord with Baker taking three wickets for Cottingham.

Roos won by six wickets at home to Sutton 111. Dudley Hulme took 5-15 and Rob Edwards 4-35 as the visitors were all out for 54 and Edwards then hit 37 not out in Roos’ reply.
