When you are near the seaside, eating ice cream is a must.

And whatever your favourite flavour, there is something to tickle your tastebuds at Mr Moos ice cream parlour.

It was established more than 10 years ago by farmers Judith and Stephen Foreman, who wanted to make delicious dairy ice cream.

The parlour also sells snacks and sandwiches at lunchtime, but really the menu is all about the ice cream.

You can take your pick from traditional favourites like vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, go for something more unusual like gooseberry and elderflower or damson and plum crumble, or choose one of the newer flavours such as salted caramel and key lime pie.

If you really feel like pushing the boat out, there are a choice of giant ice cream sundaes to test the biggest of appetites.

You can get a taste of Mr Moos all over Yorkshire these days, as tubs are regularly delivered to be sold at farm shops, restaurants, theatres, stately homes and delis all over the white rose county.

However, if you visit the farm, just outside Skipsea, you can walk off the indulgence of your ice cream with a countryside walk which begins at the site.

The Mr Moos website says: “We still remain true to our original concept to produce a top quality dairy ice cream using, wherever possible, local ingredients without the use of artificial colours or man-made flavours, the result being that we have featured in both local and national publications while our ice cream has been endorsed by some of our top chefs.

Mr Moos is open every day from 10am to 5pm until the end of October. During winter months, the parlour is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
