Wawne United 3rds 4
Little Driffield 4
Little Driffield fell behind on 20 minutes when Watts was adjudged to have pushed in the box which was a very soft penalty. Hopper in goal saved the penalty but Wawne scored from the rebound.
The visitors replied five minutes later when M. Blair received the slightest of contact in the box and getting a penalty which he duly despatched.
The referee was turning the game into a game of penalties when on 30 minutes the ball bounced up off the arm of Raines in the box, again leaving the Little Driffield players fuming with the awarding of a penalty which was scored.
But on 36 minutes they levelled again. This time a free kick right on the edge of the 18 yard box taken by D. Blair picked out the rising Bateman at the back post who headed into the top corner.
The second half started terribly for Little Driffield who conceded twice within the first five minutes.
However another D. Blair free kick picked out the head of substitute Bush who headed over the advancing home keeper for a goal on his league debut.
Hopper in goal continued to make some fine saves with some brave challenges to prevent Wawne from regaining their two goal lead.
But on 75 minutes Little Driffield cameback when Blair brought the ball down in the box and scooped the ball up and round the keeper from five yards.
Both sides pushed for the winner with Bush coming closest after racing through from the halfway line and with just the keeper to beat the keeper produced a good low save and both sides settled for the point.

Driffield Star FC 8
Bay Horse Kilham 4
Driffield Star started their season in impressive style in the battle of the pubs with an 8-4 win.
The first half saw Star dominate possession as the visitors hardly had a look in as Star scored six times without reply.
There were hat-tricks for both strikers, Chris Eyre and Danny Everest, as they kept setting each other up for some quality goals. Nathan Bell also chipped in with a couple of assists.
The Star defence had a very quiet half as the visitors created little to trouble them.
The second half saw the visitors creating a lot more chances and they scored four cracking goals giving Cheesey no chance with any of them.
Sandwiched in between Star won a penalty which Luke Sach dually converted low into the corner for his first goal for the club.
Manager Mikey Willmott then sent on Dom Lewis for the hardworking Matthew Hunton and within minutes it paid off with Lewis scoring his first goal for the club, a thunderbolt from 25 yards.
The referee blew to end the game as the Star lads celebrated. Hopefully a good season ahead after this brilliant start to the season.
Man of the match: Paul Hornby for an energetic performance, he never stopped running.
Thanks to Rich and Lisa at the Star for the after match food and Chamber Solicitors for kit sponsorship.
