Barmston Beach Holiday Park has kicked off the first phase of a new large-scale development, which will see up to 100 new pitches introduced onto the park over the next few years.
Its owner, Park Resorts, is investing heavily on the Yorkshire park starting with a half a million pound new pitch development for luxury lodges and caravans and a complete refurbishment of the Boathouse bar and restaurant.
The pitch development will take place on a brand new part of the park, which was recently purchased to further extend the site by another 10 acres. The first phase of development will house 20 new pitches including bases for 40-foot luxury lodges and will be completed by the end of March 2015.
Longer term, the park is set to introduce up to 100 new pitches as part of an ongoing refurbishment and phased development programme taking place over the next few years.
Despite the fact that the development will not be completed until springtime, many of the larger lodge pitches have already been snapped up, which reflects a current increase in demand for people choosing to enjoy the laid-back lodge lifestyle.
