Spaces up for grabs as club hosts summer rugby and multi-sports camp

A summer rugby and multi-sports camp is on for youngsters around the area at Driffield Rugby Club for the first time.

Organisers are expecting around 20 children a day and there are plenty of spaces left.

This is the first time Active Community Education in Sport (ACES) has run a rugby and multi-sport camp at Driffield Rugby Club, Kelleythorpe, but want to continue to do so in the future.

Each day will include rugby sessions alongside a range of different sports such as dodgeball, dance, football, rounders, tennis, athletics, cricket, team building and more.

Within these sessions of rugby and multi sport, the campers will develop a range of skills such as leadership, communication and organisation skills.

Certificates will be awarded on the final day for children who have best demonstrated the camp values of respect, happiness and teamwork.

These awards will be most improved, sportsmanship and Most Valuable Player (MVP).

You can book single days which are £16 per day or the full week to get a discounted price for £70. Ages from 6-14.

Times are 10am-3pm.

ACES is a Yorkshire-based sports education company, led by qualified teacher and Harrogate first team centre Kyle Dench.

In school term-time, ACES provide outstanding PE teaching, mentor class teachers, run competitions and provide after-school activities within schools across Harrogate and Yorkshire.

Within the summer, ACES multi-sports and rugby camps begin, which provide children aged 6-16 across Yorkshire of all abilities and backgrounds fun and affordable Sports Camps.

They have 11 camps going on this summer holidays, the most ever.
