A collection of memorabilia relating to ISDT competitor Pete Lasota will be part of the automobilia section of a Classic Car and Motorbike auction to be held on July 31 at the Driffield Showground.

Peter James Lasota (May 18, 1935 to August 7, 2011), was a career Army soldier with the Royal Signals Corp, who was an ardent motorcycle trialist and combined the two as the Army always provided teams and back up for the International Six Day Trials.

His trialling career began whilst stationed in Malaysia in the late 1950s, but took off on his return to the UK with two and three-day trials in Wales and Scotland before becoming part of the British ISDT team from the early 1960’s through to 1970.

The ISDT is the oldest off road motorcycle event on the Federation of International Motorcycling’s calendar, occurring at locations throughout the world since 1913.

Included in the Dee Atkinson and Harrison auction will be memorabilia from Pete’s competitions such as:

* a competitor’s badge and a photo of Lasota wearing it from the 40th International Six Day Trial, which took place on the Isle of Man in September 1965, along with a Manx Three Day Trial Gold medal and trophy.

* competitor’s badge, photo and Swedish glass paperweight fdrom 41st International Six Day Trial, at Villingsberg, Sweden, 1966

* British ISDT 1967 overall patch, a VASE arm label and commemorative pate from the 42nd International Six Day Trial, held at Zakopane, in Poland, September 1967.
