POLICE found cannabis during a routing check on a car containing four men.
The drugs were discovered by officers manning a patrol car just before midnight on Saturday December 8.
A police spokeswoman said: “A routine vehicle stop for a Silver Renault Clio was done by a passing police patrol.
“In the vehicle were four males, and the vehicle smelled very strongly of cannabis.
“The male driver admitted to the possession of cannabis, which was in a tobacco tin located in the driver’s side pocket on the door.
“A Section 23 search was conducted on the driver and the vehicle and on the other three occupants of the vehicle.
The spokeswoman explained: “One of the other males was also found in possession of cannabis, which was secreted in a small cellophane sealed bag in his left hand side trouser pocket.
“Both males admitted that the Cannabis was theirs and for their own personal use. Cannabis warnings were issued for the offence.”
