A man is accused of using his tractor to shunt a car eight to 10 feet along a Nafferton street during a traffic dispute.

Peter Foster, 45, of Little Houndales Farm, Nafferton, entered no plea to charges of driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop after a road accident and failing to report an accident when he appeared at Bridlington Magistrates Court on Wednesday April 3.

The charges relate to an incident at around 2.50pm on Priestgate in Nafferton on October 8 last year, where it is said that Mr Foster’s New Holland TS115 Tractor, which was pulling a six tonne manure trailer, was involved in a traffic dispute with a Toyota 4x4 vehicle.

Prosecutor Heather Levett told the court that the dispute stemmed from neither vehicle having enough space to pass on the road.

The case was adjourned for committal proceedings at Bridlington Magistrates Court on May 15.
