Household waste site from the air

Pictured here is the redesigned household waste recycle site at Kelleythorpe, near Driffield - as seen from the air.

The site is set to reopen on Thursday April 18, in the wake of an extensive £800,000 facelift.

The work in progress was captured by Driffield resident Mr Martin Temple as he flew over the area.

The site has increased in size and will boast additional facilities following the East Riding of Yorkshire Council improvement project.

The new site is much larger and split level.

Traffic using the site will now flow more easily because there is a new access and exit from Wadsworth Road, creating a one way system around the site which will reduce traffic on Church Lane.

The HGVs that drop off the empty skips and collect the full ones are now confined to the bay area below the ramps ending the need to close the site for short periods.
