Here are my racing thoughts for the day:
Thursday 2nd October
NO SELECTION
With no Turf racing on the level today, TIP OF THE DAY is taking a 24-hour break. I’m sure you didn’t fancy a selection as bad as yesterday’s anyway! One piece of advice I do have, however, concerns Sunday’s Arc, which I’m sure many of you have started studying with a view to having a bet. Please wait for the draw before you part with your cash! It might seem daft that stall numbers can play such a significant role in a race over 12f. But nine of the last ten Arc winners and 18 of the last 21 have come from single-figure berths. Incidentally, I have narrowed my shortlist down to four. Draw permitting, I reckon either TAGHROODA or ECTOT will prevail, but at bigger odds, RULER OF THE WORLD and PRINCE GIBRALTAR are tempting each/way propositions.
